Dance Company Tryout Information
Dance Company for the 2021-2022 school year are coming up. Only incoming 8th graders can audition. Dance Company is a full year class. Dance Co members will perform at 2 dance concerts during the year and possible assemblies. We also try to go to a dance workshop for a fieldtrip during the year.
There is no after school commitment. Class time is during 1st period. (This time could change). We will have 2 evening dance concerts. One in December and one in the spring but other than that all rehearsal time will be during the school day.
Dancers are expected to be present to class, not tardy, have a good attitude, work hard and really want to be there.
If you don’t make Dance Company you should sign up for Dance 2 or Dance 3
Tryout Information:
March 26th (Friday)
Check in: 9:30 AM in the gym at DPMS
10-12:30 learn a Jazz and a Contemporary and a Technique Combo across the floor
12:30-1:00: Break and rehearsal time
1-3:00 auditions in the dance room in front of 3 independent judges.
Only dancers auditioning are allowed in the gym area and dance room. No spectators will be allowed to watch
Wear all black dance attire and pull your hair back off your face. No baggy dance clothes. No jewelry.
Please don’t come if you are sick. You will fill out a health check list upon arrival.
