Fall Conferences - September 22 & 23
Parent Teacher Conference Sign-up Instructions
We hope that you are doing well and staying safe! We are three weeks into the school year and settling into a routine here at school. We want to thank you for your support in helping students come prepared for school each day and follow the COVID mitigation procedures we have established.
We would like to invite you to participate the upcoming Fall Conferences on Tuesday, 9/22; from 3:30pm-7:30pm and Wednesday, 9/23; from 3:30pm-7:00pm. Fall Conferences will be held over the phone with teachers from Draper Park Middle School.
Due to COVID, our fall conferences, like so many others this year, will look very different from what we are used to. We have been asked not to hold in-person meetings at this time. Our plan for conferences will involve brief 5-minute phone conferences with teachers. The purpose of these conferences is to discuss questions and concerns with a specific teacher about their course and your child’s performance. Students are invited to participate with teachers and parents.
Because we know that many parents will want to participate and there are a limited number of time slots available, we are asking that parents check the Skyward grading system first to determine if there is a need to have a conversation with a specific teacher. If your student is getting an A in a specific class, you might consider checking in with that teacher via email.
To sign up for a phone conference with your child’s teacher on September 22nd or 23rd, please log into the Skyward Family Access system starting on Friday, September 11, and follow the attached instructions. If you wish to speak to a teacher, but appointment slots on the 22nd and 23rd are filled before you have a chance to sign up, please contact the teacher directly to schedule a phone conference on a different day. Teachers are available every day before and after school.
As always, if you have a question or a concern, you do not have to wait until parent-teacher conferences to discuss it with a teacher. You are always welcome to email the teacher directly and work through any concerns that arise. Counselors and administrators are also available to answer questions and help solve problems.
